Look! I made icons!

I meant to post these last week or so, after the contest ended, but never got around to it. I put the post up as private and then never changed it, so here I am doing it now!

Spurred along somehow by the icon-contest that this Freaks and Geeks community I am in is continually having, I decided to see if I could manage some simple icons. These were for the Nick/Lindsay challenge. So...these are the first real icons I've ever made. (You know, other than just cutting a pic so it would fit.) It would probably help if I had something other than iphoto and HPimage editor to work with though. I used to have photoshop but that was long long ago. Anyone know any good cheap/free image editing programmes for Mac? I don't think there is a Mac GIMP version, but maybe I'm wrong?









Anyway, they aren't super-fab, but I had fun making them. I have yet to decide if I'm going to actually use any of them. And if anyone out there wants them (ha!) feel free. Maybe I'll randomly do it again sometime...

Nice icons!

There is a Mac GIMP version. You can download it here. It requires X11, which is one of the optional installs for Mac OSX. It was easy to install from my system disk.

And if you do download it and play around with it, let me know and I can send you Filo's cheat sheet that she made up to explain some of features.

Yes please on the famous cheat sheet! I won't get around to it until I get back from holiday, but if I don't ask now I'm likely to forget. :)

I'm not sure how I missed that the first time I trawled the GIMP page. D'oh!
