This 12th was the runup to Rach’s bday, which was the next day, so there were various types of preparations going on. Also, Kaite and Claire came over for dinner, baking and party prep. Somehow Claire didn’t make the picture cut, because the only ones I had of her (helping with my costume) were after midnight. Next time!

My new HSM water bottle – I needed something for beside my bed because Nimbus has a bad habit of knocking over pint glasses. Also, around it you can see three of my alarm clocks because I do not wake up well.

My passport and NHS form. I need to register with the local doctor and I thought I might have time this morning before work, but it just didn’t happen.

My to do list at work. My boss has been out of town and I needed to get everything ready for when he came back, so this is the final checklist so all was sorted.

A poem on the underground! I don’t see them too often, but I’m always happy when I do – so much nicer than the regular ads and such.

Chocolates that were given to Kaite for cheering purposes. They used to say “thinking of you” but that was before some got eaten, obviously.

Nimbus times two! I took a bunch of these shots, messing around with the angle and his reflection, but he moves around so much that most of them weren’t very good. You can really tell how much he's grown - in this picture he looks huge.

The frosting for Rach’s cake, which turned out really yummy. I hadn’t found a good recipe for a chocolate buttercream before, so this one is a keeper.

He actually looks bigger in that pic then he is in real life I think, but I do love how it turned out. Double Nimbus = double the fun, I guess!

That photo frame is awesome! I love it, and might borrow the idea for future use!

Your lists look a lot like mine - scribbed all over and crossed through :D

And heh - I keep seeing different poems, but I've kept an eye out for that faux-seating sign you once posted (the one about sitting on people's laps, that looks just like the real give up your seat ones)! Have you seen the CBS Tube posters on the walls? One's about holidays (I think I saw on the Northern line at Tottenham Court Road, going south) and one's about living in London (I think I saw on the Northern Line, at Leicester Square going north)? Funny, like you think nothing of going an hour across London for drinks with a friend, you thnk zone 6 is the countryside, you can't understand why the rest of the country doesn't use the "stand on the right" rule, you'll run for the Tube even though the next one's only a few minutes... made me laugh!

And hey, I've met Kaite! We both won NaNoWriMo - I can't remember if we (you and me I mean) had a common link before or not, but what a small world! Speaking of - I'm going to be moving soon, and I think it's just down the road from you, though I've only just realised that... I'll be in East Finchley.

Possibly the longest comment I've done this month, apart from the London things to see/travel tips I posted for Jason, heh. Whoops!

I met Kaite through Nano this year, actually. My whole house did it - that's how we all met in the first place too, the year before. If you recall, you and I did figure out earlier that we were both on the Nano boards, but then we missed each other at write-ins, so never met up. I'll have to ask Kaite if she remembers you! :)

EAST FINCHLEY IS WHERE WE LIVE! That would be totally insane if you moved near us. We're about a five minute walk from the tube station - where is the place you are looking? Um, maybe email me? jenepel@hotmail.com
