Heroes World Tour

I MET MILO!! Seriously, I met him on Friday! I'm still totally excited and squeeing - such a fangirl. I usually try to avoid being this giddy over someone, but I'm pretty ridiculous when it comes to Milo.
The appearance for the World Tour was at 12:30 at the London Eye, and that was all the information that was given. Of course, I had to work, and I just couldn't take the day off, so I opted instead to go in early, stay late, and take a REALLY long lunch. Considering it takes me about 30 mins just to get to the Eye from my work, I feel like I did pretty well. I took a bit of a chance on there not being a line, and decided to go at the last minute so I could stay longer afterwards. Thankfully, that was the best decision, since when I got there around 12:15 they were queuing to get on the Eye. I took a few pics of that but of course they were pretty far away.
During the 30 minute ride they kind of shooed all of us fans over to the over side of the place where the lines are, saying we would get pictures and things if we stayed on the right side. There weren't tons of people there (maybe 150? - I'm bad at that type of number, so I'm not sure) and it was a melee at first because we couldn't figure out where they wanted us. We kept all going to one side, and then the other, as teh security guards tried to put up some kind of rope barrier. And of course there were all these tourists around who had no idea what was going on. When we were finally behind a rope, I in the perfect position, because I was one of the people right up against it. The security guard kept saying how impressed he was that we were being so good and standing in line...but hey, it is England!
Finally they got off the Eye and came over to the line. People were pretty good really, not too much shoving. So the four of them just made their way along the line, signing things and sometimes posing for pictures. I figured I would just be happy if I could get one with Milo, so as he came I asked right away while he was signing things for the person in front of me. It went like this...
Me (as he is signing for others, pretty quietly): After you do that, can I take a picture with you please?
Him (smiling): Sure.
He finishes theirs and walks to me, then leans down beside my head as I hold the camera out.
Him (while reaching for the camera and trying to tilt it): I don't think that's going to take right - you have the wrong angle.
Me: Oh, I really suck at taking pictures this way.
Him: I'm pretty good at them, I'll do it
He takes the camera from me (touches my hand!) and takes the picture quickly. Then he turns it around and checks to make sure it took properly and hands my camera back!
Him: There you go. That looks good.
Me: Thanks! It's so cool to meet you.
Him (now being rushed along, smiling): You too!
He was just SO nice. He was being really friendly and taking his time, even though they were trying to shoo them along. Plus, he was incredibly hot. :) He's also really short, which I love. And he leaned right up to me for the picture. Siigh.
I didn't get a picture with anyone else; Hayden was saying she thought she might get in trouble for doing it (at least that's what she said to me) because they were rushing them along, and Jack and Adrian were having to go even faster because they were the last ones. I did take close ups of all of them though, as they moved along. In fact, the mini conversation I had with Hayden was kind of about that. I shot a picture of her just as she came right in front of me, and then said to her "oh, I'm sorry - I think I just took a scary close up of you" (nice, huh?) and she just laughed and said something like "well there's probably a lot of those from this tour". Then I asked about taking a picture with her and she said she didn't think she was supposed to. (I wanted to be all "but Milo's doing it!" but it felt a bit whiny.)
Basically, it was awesome! I got some really great close-ups of Milo and the others too. The close-up of Hayden is vaguely scary, mainly because she is taller than me (ok, I'm 4'9") and so it's a looking up shot. And the one of Milo and I is good of him, but I look a bit surprised. Still, it's a faceshot of the two of us, cheek to cheek. Wowsa. I can't post the pics yet because I left my USB camera cord at my parents house. Sorry! I'm going home next weekend so I'll post them then. I promise!
I stayed til 2:00 and then I had to rush back to go to work. It was quite a letdown after all that excitement! And then, to top it all off, after work I had to go to A&E (Accident and Emergency, or to you stateside people - the ER). Long story short, I've been having chest pains this week and refusing to go to the doctor. People at work have been worried - well, they are all older than me and they (I think) baby me a bit. So I finally agreed I would go Friday night. It took like three hours. They did an EKG and evidently there was something on there that was wrong, so they wanted to do more. They took blood (from both a vein and an artery), urine, and did a chest x-ray. Then they did another EKG, and that one was clean. The bottom line was that they couldn't find anything wrong. (THAT'S why I don't go to the doctor.) So he just gave me Codeine for the pain and told me to come back if it was still bothering me, got worse, etc. Also, now I have these huge bruises in the two places they took blood - I look like a druggie. The great thing is that all I had to pay for was the medicine. God bless the NHS. I bet that would have cost thousands in the US. Or at least I get that impression from TV shows.
They have just added Milo and Adrian to the ComicCon lineup. I was planning to go tomorrow anyway, but now I'm even more excited. Maybe I'll see them again - I guess it depends what the setup is.

Date: 2007-09-02 01:11 am (UTC)I'm not too worried about the med stuff - my view on things like that is that they usually go away. (Healthy, huh?)
