Jul. 16th, 2009 03:32 pmI have a half-written post with reactions from all 6 Harry Potter movies (yeah...I know) that I will hopefully post tonight. (In general I was happy with HP6 but it had some ~very serious~ plot/canon issues.) But for now, grabbed from several people on my flist, MEME!
I think that's interesting, although not surprising. It just underscores my belief that I have the most neutral normal US accent you could have - worn down from growing up over here and meeting people from all over the US. I am now tempted to mail it to my bro and see if he gets the same result.
Also, I am having dinner tonight with my best friend from MIDDLE SCHOOL and her husband, who are visiting London this week. I have not seen this girl in over ten years, although we have kept vaguely in touch. We shall see.
Which American accent do you have? Neutral You're not Northern, Southern, or Western, you`re just plain -American-. Your national identity is more important than your local identity, because you don`t really have a local identity. You might be from the region in that map, which is defined by this kind of accent, but you could easily not be. Or maybe you just moved around a lot growing up. |
