The best part of today was the write-in, where I finally got started again after my long desert of doing nothing.  I'm still massively behind, but at least I'm moving forward.  I have no vision of whether it's any good now, but words are going on the page, so that's something.  A few new people at the write-in that I hadn't met, also it was at Starbucks instead of the BL, so that was interesting.  A bit noisier, and very very crowded. No [profile] basilm, but [profile] teaatsix was there, so yay!  Went to the pub afterwards, natch.  Tomorrow it's at an undecided location, so that's weird.  And then Thurs back to the BL, thank goodness.

Seriously though, today sucked.  I think it was inevitable since it was a catch-up day at work and I was exhausted from the weekend.  Erin came on Friday morning and she came by the office for lunch.  There were only four of us there so we ordered out pizza.  I don't think I got a thing done after that point.  And then Monday was a holiday, so today it all came crashing down on me.  I meant to leave work for the write-in at 5:00, but we got a last minute call (read: demand) from the US at 4:45, so I ended up not being able to leave until after 6.  Precious writing time missed, people!

Anyhow, since I already started listing it on facebook, here are the things we did (touristy I mean) this weekend.  I call this Jenn's very very cheap tour of London - we only spent money on necessities - food, drink, transport and the theatre!

walk along South Bank of River (Tower Bridge to Tate Modern to look at Globe Theatre, etc)
Tate Modern
Covent Garden/ Transport Museum Shop
Leicester Sq/ Piccadilly/ Nelson's Column/ Soho/ Piccadilly Circus/ Oxford Street etc  (LOTS OF WALKING)
dinner with my parents
saw Desperately Seeking Susan (FAB!)
Angel/ Upper St  (for a night out)
London Walks (Harry Potter)
dyed my hair very red
British Museum/ British Library
Camden Market and surrounding area
saw Hairspray (FAB!)

That was three very packed days.  We also ate Japanese food all weekend, which was awesome.  We even went to the Okonomiyaki place.  They wouldn't let us mix and cook it ourselves, but it was still fun.  And both shows (which were cheap tickets, £15 and £20) were very good.  I kinda really want the Hairspray soundtrack now.  [profile] vegi_b  was going to give it to me, but that was way back when.

So yes, and then I dropped her off at the right tube on the way to work this morning so she could get a train to the airport.  Good trip, but totally draining.

Work was brutal and then here I am up at almost 2AM again.  But the virtual season went up tonight at 1AM (read it HERE!) and so I always feel like I have to stay up to make a few posts (TWoP and facebook) and just be sure everything goes off alright.

I was going to write more tonight but that didn't happen.  I think I'm going to be lazy and watch Heroes instead.  And no, if you're asking, I haven't packed yet for my trip - I leave on Friday morning.

Happy moving day to [profile] adinarj !!

Thanks for the good thoughts! But it doesn't feel real until I'm sleeping there, and actually living there.

Hairspray was excellent. Did you see the show on stage or the new movie? I can't wait to own the DVD of the movie.

Oh, it was the stage show. I've seen the old movie but not the new one. I just checked what movies are on my flight though, and it's one of them, so if the AA website is to be believed, I should be able to watch it on Friday. Yay!

*pets*

I am stealing your ideas. But my friend is lame and doesn't want to try interesting food, tho I am going to drag her to Shepard's bush market in search of the perfect falafel. And she doesn't want to see any shows! I asked her about mousetrap and she said "Maybe." Blah blah see you on thursday? have fun at write-in tonight!!

I hope you guys have fun - it's pretty much impossible to run out of things to see here. About the food, I feel like all we spent money on was eating, but it was all good. In four days, we ate: sushi, okonomiyaki, falafels, cuban food, indian food, pub food and wagamamas. YUM!

I didn't end up going to the write-in tonight. I am just running out of time and had to go home to pack and do laundry. I'm going to try and make myself write later tonight though. I will definitely be at the one tomorrow.

Hey Hey! I know - my trip was FAB but I feel like I've been away for SO long. I missed the write-in last night but I went at the end just so I could say hi to people. Ah the sadness.

The pub is called GoldHawk; it's in Shepherds Bush, somewhere near Seb's place. It's his local? YOU SHOULD COME! (Even if you're too busy for nano now, don't be too busy for UUUUSSSS!)

Oh I am definantly coming! I miss everyone, I miss my nano too. I hate random exams :(
I have had to go on a no fic reading week to....so I miss sam & dean. *facepalm*
What time will you be there?

I am just now catching up on my flist (should be writing nano) so I'm sure I'll get to your explain-y entries. I caught the line about no fic, and asked Rach and she was just all "go read her lj"! How very helpful. :)

The plan is thus: BL from around 2ish til it closes at 7:30. Move onto pub and have dinner then WRITE MORE and then drink. Evidently it has free wireless so we can update word counts too.

Well I'll meet you guys at the pub as I have exams all day, so you should get there around 8ish right?

Yeah I would think so, maybe longer with packing up and transit and all. Just text or whatever...

YAY!

Do you reckon you guys will still be writing?
I'm so gutted I couldn't do Nano,
Although I added all the writing I've done together (Nano + Cheerleader!Jensen + outsidePOV!wincest) and it came to 60,000 which is more than I've ever done in one month before!

Yeah see that's awesome because I've pretty much only been doing nano, writing-wise. (Other than work stuff.) And I don't have near that many words yet.

We all have between 30000 and 40000 right now, so it's entirely possible that we will still be writing. I don't know. We left that option open anyhow. Will it make a difference if we are? You could work on something, write, or study?

From: [identity profile] teaatsix.livejournal.com
No I'll deff come, I can work on cheerleader!Jensen! Or possibly study. As that seems to be the focus of my life right now!

Someday I want to read cheerleader!Jensen! But maybe I should see SPN first?

Oooh I shall hunt SPN down and bring it. Damn you for your hiding SPN!

I just bought loads of Supernatural Manga ^^ I'm excited!

Oh, I wasn't hinting.

Okay, maybe I unintentionally was. Yeah, you should find it and bring it to me.

Lol, how is you Nano going anyway did you get much done whilst you were away?

From: [identity profile] jenepel.livejournal.com
Here's what I did:

plane there - 3000
on trip - 2000
plane back - 5000
end count - 30000

The plane rides were the only part that saved me. After today's write-in I have 33000 so am still way behind. I was going to write more at home but right now catching up on LJ is seeming more fun. I have a feeling I will really need Friday. At least the BL write-ins W/TH/F guarantee me 9000 more words. That just leaves 8000 to sort out.

From: [identity profile] teaatsix.livejournal.com
Yeah I finished on 35,000 so really if I didn't have the exams I might be able to hit it, but honestly these exams are my future, and this is pretty much my last chance. Why did it have to be during Nano!?!?

From: [identity profile] jenepel.livejournal.com
Exams are more important than nano. I know it's hard to believe but I'm sure they are.

Work on the other hand? Not so much. I told my people I have a dr. appt on Friday so I can leave early to write!
