jenepelThis was perhaps not the most inspired day, picture-wise, but a relaxing one because after work I just went home and slept. When you tell people something like that, they say "well, you must have needed it!" and usually I scoff, but this was one of those days when I think I actually did need it. Long weekend helping with carnivals and such. :) The worst thing about sleeping so long is that I completely missed the Eurovision semi-final. SUCKAGE! My dad even called me to remind me that it was on, but I guess my phone was still on silent from work. Add that to the fact that I have a party to go to on Sat night (sorry ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
ladyvivien!) and I'm definitely not doing well with Eurovision watching this year. I am trying not to be too depressed about this fact.

I realised as I was getting ready for bed that the 12th was tomorrow(today) and already knew it was a boring one, so took a few quick pics. Here's Nimbus, fully aware of the late hour and ready for bed.

And (as promised in some earlier post) a picture of my new haircut. This took me several tries to get myself properly in the frame, but I think you can get the gist. It seemed to make more sense to do a side view.

5:42 PM – Finchley, N3
Hee. In my notes I titled this "school and tree and sky". We have skipped pretty much the entire day (I was just at work anyhow) and I'm walking to the tube. This is my favourite building on my walk, a Jewish boys school. It's so very pretty with the tower and all. I know I've taken a pic of it before, but I don't care b/c I love it.

This not very good picture represents my good deed for the day. I found this scarf on the ground as I was walking, outside a building that I always see little girls in dance costumes coming out of. It turns out that it's a dance school and this was a prop of some kind, so I went in and returned it.

Christian aid! I wasn't aware it was this week but I guess it is. My dad always collects for Christian Aid, and I have even done it a few years in the past. It's probably the easiest kind of door to door to do, because people are generally nice to you (well in our village, maybe not so much in London) and expect the yearly visit.

Another sign of summer - the local Thai restaurant has bought chairs and tables so that people can eat outside. They looked so new that at first I thought they were for sale.

Headlines of the day! Ah, this expense report business - such idiots.

Since it's nice weather (and I come home before dark) I've started using the alley shortcut again. I don't think it's actually that much quicker, but it feels like it is, and that's what counts.

6:05 PM - Awesome Manor, N2
This won't mean much to people who have never been to our house, but this is our entrance without one noticeable thing. The real estate sign. Despite the fact that we've been renting it for about eight months, they never took it down. We had left it there too, for whatever reasons. Laziness? So we could see our house easily? Not to step on the agency's toes? Who knows. Our neighbour seems to have no such qualms. And so, (around 1AM by our calculations) he/she mysteriously decided to remove it for us. Keep in mind that this is (we THINK) the same person who stole our "London for Obama" sign. They really need to work on boundaries.

Nimbus in the place I usually find him when I come home - perched at the top of the stairs.

And a few minutes later, in my room as I collapse on the bed. Nimbus is lovely and likes to lay right on my chest. I'm pulling a face because he's doing one of his favourite things (which is not so lovely) kneading. That means claws right into my face. Ouch! I kind of like how this is an action shot; you can see my hand going to his paw to pull it away.

I woke up hours later, sadly cat-less, but ready to get a few quick things done. The most important thing I needed to do was post the Virtual Season episode at 1AM, so here I am having a last look at the testpage before the day is over.
