It's almost 3AM and I have to work tomorrow and I just cannot seem to make myself go to sleep. Instead I'm messing around on Twitter and AIM and reading fanfic and whatever else I can do to waste a little time. I'm still on such a high from the Adam Lambert concert.

Seriously, you guys it was SO AMAZING! He's incredible live, his voice sounded great, he was so funny talking in between, the crowd was insane, etc etc. I can't believe it's over and done with, because it just went so quickly. He did: For Your Entertainment, Music Again, Strut, Whataya Want From Me, Sleepwalker, Fever, and If I Had You. And just because I'm bored and don't want to sleep yet, have some pics from the concert.

So yeah, pretty awesome. Also awesome? Random fan meet-ups. We got into the venue a few hours early (the line was AROUND THE BLOCK - people had lined up in the morning or something??) and so we had a bunch of time to kill before it started. The crowd was a bit weird, not proper gig-ish exactly, all bunched to the front and super intense. Anyway we stood around talking, etc and then this girl behind silly_cleo and I started talking to us (I think asking about support acts? if there was one?) and then said "so are you guys from the internet?" We pretty much just looked at each other and cracked up, because how do you even respond to that? But yes, indeed, we pretty much are, if LJ and Twitter and goodness knows what else are any indication. I was a little worried she meant the Adam fansites, since EVERYONE I have met so far has been from them. But no! She meant LJ! And Kradam! So we chatted, and then went for LJ names, and it turned out she was bexless (*waves hi*), which um, OMG amazing, b/c HELLO HER FIC! But I feel I have flailed enough on this in person and possibly in Twitter after (risti and I are not subtle) so I won't do it here.

But I love that! A random person in the audience behind me was a fanfic writer I like and respect, and also turned out to be a totally funny awesome person to kill an hour or so with before the show. There was much squeeing, discussion of AI fic and bandom (shut up, AI RPF IS A GATEWAY DRUG) and various other fannish pursuits. (Also Bex can you tell me the LJ name of your bf? Because we totally forgot it.) Good times were had by all and etc. (Also you guys go read her fic - this one especially (Apples are not the only fruit) b/c it's a classic.)

One more thing, a very un-awesome thing that happened at the end of this all. Basically I am an idiot. I borrowed Isla's camera today for various dumb reasons, and then of course did not use it at all b/c I was too busy, you know, enjoying the concert. But what I did manage to do was crack the screen. I seriously couldn't see ANYTHING (you guys I am 4'9") and so I decided to give myself another two inches by standing on my bag. Stupidly I did not remove anything (including Isla's camera, my ipod or my phone) from said bag. And guess what happened? The only thing not belonging to me got broken. So I guess I owe Isla a new camera. TOTALLY SUCKS. I hope she isn't too mad at my sheer idiocy. So yeah, not the best end to an otherwise awesome night, but certainly a reminder that I DO NOT THINK despite supposedly being a grown-up. Ah well.

In conclusion, yay fandom! I will now allow myself to read one fic and then go to bed. :)

SO EXCITED FOR YOU. ♥ I have no idea if I'll be able to afford/even get a chance to buy a ticket for Adam's tour, so for now I'll live vicariously through you. Awww, lookit him with his dancers and coloured lights and sparkly lapels. I'm sort of swooning.

(Also, eek, sorry about the camera. :( I'm only 5'2", so I totally understand why you were motivated to use your bag as a stepladder.)

Awww, I really hope all the people who want to see him get to at some point! I keep talking to people who are all like "well, if he ever comes near where I am..." etc. He's SO GOOD!

Also mostly I don't mind my shortness but man sometimes being tall would come in super handy. Reading other people's reviews I can see I missed A LOT, purely by just not being able to see more than his torso. Ah well, music live was still AWESOME.

Also, JSYK I totally recced orbedrowned to Bex, and then today on Twitter she said "what was the HS AU you were going on and on about" and then she went and read it and was all "OMG SO GOOD BUT WIP WHY DIDN'T I RESIST" so how cool is that? :)

I just tried to buy a ticket for the NYC show on presale (I signed up for AdamOfficial to accomplish this. I feel...dirty.) and no dice. I'm going to try and catch the open-to-the-public sale on Saturday.

I used to like, utterly loathe being short when I was in elementary/middle school, but I don't mind it now, either. Although I will be happy to upgrade to "utter loathing" again in the event that I get to go to this concert and can't see. Maybe a nice middle-aged Glambert will let me sit on her shoulders or something.

I love American Dreams! I was a total Meg/Sam shipper, even though I didn't want it to actually happen on the show b/c I thought it would be historically unlikely or whatever.

Also, I totally "wander around" reccing that fic! I think you underestimate my love for it, which I must tell you, is EPIC. (Ala Logan/Veronica, if you're a VM fan!) Funny fact, I also managed to rec one of her OWN fics to her, which is kind of flattering (I like her fic) and unflattering (I didn't remember it was hers) all at once. It's hard to keep them all straight though!

Historically unlikely, but totally enchanting anyway! (I've only seen the first season of that show, sadly, because it's all that exists on DVD. I should actually poke at the internet and see if they've released more, it's been a couple years since I watched season one...)

I am definitely a VM fan, so I hope that your love for the AU---while totally spanning continents---will not involve any bloodshed. Or the AU's father murdering your best friend, or anything like that.

I know Amanda and I said thank you (or I know she did and I hope I did!!), but THANK YOU again for the tickets, and if you can let those who couldn't go know too? I really enjoyed watching Adam perform, and liked the songs form the first listen. I had to wait until I got back from Paris, but I downloaded the album and have fallen in love with "What do you want from me", seriously.

As this post seems to be open, do you mind if I link Amanda to it? She's got an LJ account, so could actually leave a proper comment too. I haven't seen if she friended anyone on FB - I think we've all had busy weeks so it might be she catches up with FB at the weekend - but I know she'd love to see Jay's photos! I thought they're great, much better than my little POS basic camera got when I tried in Paris with Counting Crows. I need a new compact one!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it and also that you're liking the album! I'm really trying to make as many people love him as possible, so I feel very accomplished from the concert. :)
